Africa, with 70% of its population under age 30, must invest in its youth while also preparing for a significant growth in older adults. By the end of the century, Africa's older population is set to increase 15-fold. This demographic shift will strain families and healthcare systems, requiring proactive policies and practices. African societies must focus on health care, intergenerational collaboration, and entrepreneurship to address the needs of both young and older adults. It's crucial to educate citizens, embrace the aging process, and capitalize on the high esteem for older adults within African culture. Investing in health, wellness, and respecting the rights of older adults are essential steps for a successful transition to an aging population.
