Amazon is extending its job cuts in the advertising unit, affecting employees globally. The impacted individuals will have 60 to 90 days to find alternative roles within Amazon, with full pay and benefits during this period. The company is also providing support through a recruiting firm to help affected employees secure new jobs outside the company. The layoffs come as part of Amazon's ongoing cost-cutting efforts, with at least 27,000 job reductions announced since late 2022. The company has also eliminated roles within its Prime Video, Twitch, Audible, and healthcare units. Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky hinted at the possibility of further job cuts in the future despite strong financial results. The company is looking to drive efficiencies and hold the line on headcount. This latest round of layoffs underscores Amazon's commitment to streamlining its operations and prioritizing investments in customer-centric experiences.
