Amazon Business has introduced a new feature called 'Prefer Small and Medium Enterprises' aimed at aiding large-scale procurement operations to support SMEs. The tool is designed to enhance the discoverability of SMEs operating on the platform. It emphasizes sellers with fewer than 250 employees and less than €50 million in revenue. This initiative highlights the significance of SMEs and aims to address challenges they face in scaling their businesses online effectively. The announcement also aligns with recent UK government procurement legislation, mandating more consideration for SMEs in public procurement processes in hopes of giving them a greater share of annual sales.
