Amazon.com Inc. has revealed that it is investing an extra $2.75 billion in Anthropic, solidifying a deal made last year to support the AI startup and expand their partnership. This increased investment brings Amazon’s total investment in Anthropic, a reputable builder of AI tools known for generating text and analysis, to $4 billion, following a previous investment announced in September. As part of the initial deal, Amazon had the option to provide additional funds in the form of a convertible note before the end of March, which they have now done.
