The American sugar industry is taking steps to address the issue of potential trade rule violations by Mexico in its sugar shipments to the US. They are seeking a significant decrease in the amount of sugar Mexico is allowed to send to the US, with proposed curbs of 44% effective from April 1. The request, detailed in a letter sent to Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, aims to enforce these measures for the year ending in September.
