The upcoming Artemis 3 mission by NASA will mark the first human exploration of the Moon since the Apollo era. NASA has revealed the tools that astronauts will carry to the lunar south pole in September 2026. These instruments, designed to be installed by astronauts, include the Lunar Environment Monitoring Station (LEMS) for seismic monitoring, the Lunar Effects on Agricultural Flora (LEAF) experiment for studying plant growth in space, and the Lunar Dielectric Analyzer (LDA) for assessing lunar regolith properties. The mission aims to uncover vital scientific insights including lunar resources and the Moon's origin story. This step represents a significant advancement in lunar exploration, paving the way for potential long-term human presence on the Moon.
