Austrian National Bank Governor, Robert Holzmann, has made it clear that he will not seek re-election when his current term ends in August 2025. In a recent interview with the Austrian daily newspaper Kronen-Zeitung, the 75-year-old stated that he had already decided five years ago that his position was a six-year commitment and that he has no intention of applying for the position again. Holzmann emphasized the progress made during his tenure, highlighting the significant advancements achieved during this period.
