⚠️ Heads up: this article is from our "experimental era" — a beautiful mess of enthusiasm ✨, caffeine ☕, and user-submitted chaos 🤹. We kept it because it’s part of our journey 🛤️ (and hey, everyone has awkward teenage years 😅).

Canva has made a commitment to uphold the perpetual license feature of Affinity software following its acquisition, assuring users of its continuation. The joint statement from Canva and Affinity outlines four pledges, including the option for subscriptions alongside the perpetual model. Users can expect continued support for Affinity as a standalone product, free availability for schools and non-profits, and a focus on user-led development. Additionally, the firm is preparing to introduce user-requested updates such as variable font support, free updates, and ePub export in 2024.
