Mexico’s presidential frontrunner, Claudia Sheinbaum, holds a 17-point lead one month into the official campaign period for the June election, as revealed by a recent poll. The poll conducted by newspaper El Financiero indicates that Sheinbaum, from the ruling Morena party, has secured 51% of voter intention, up from 50% in a previous survey. Leading opposition candidate Xochitl Galvez follows with 34% of the votes, and Movimiento Ciudadano’s Jorge Alvarez Maynez trails with 7% of support, while 8% of voters remain undecided.
