⚠️ Heads up: this article is from our "experimental era" — a beautiful mess of enthusiasm ✨, caffeine ☕, and user-submitted chaos 🤹. We kept it because it’s part of our journey 🛤️ (and hey, everyone has awkward teenage years 😅).

Databricks launches DBRX, a large language model (LLM) to rival OpenAI, claiming it's faster, cheaper, and more efficient. It was pre-trained on 3,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, and is now open source. DBRX is designed with a 'mixture of experts' to handle requests with less computing power. This open-source model can lead to more variety by allowing others to build on it. DBRX also addresses copyright concerns. Databricks CEO states their model is faster, cheaper, and more efficient than competitors. Making DBRX open source will be key to monetization.
