Fully decentralized governance presents challenges similar to those facing traditional democracies. Meeting the definition of decentralization and ensuring fair token distribution are critical. However, broad voter engagement is essential, as low turnout concentrates power. The results of an analysis revealed that DAOs are susceptible to low voter participation, jeopardizing their original objective. Despite the obstacles, initiatives like MakerDAO's 'Endgame' and Polkadot's bold steps towards decentralization are being implemented to address these challenges. The aim is to maintain and strengthen governance by re-engaging voters and diversifying decision-making. While DAOs may face struggles akin to traditional democracies, there is potential for innovative development and effective models.
