The Earth experienced its hottest February on record, marking the ninth consecutive record-breaking month. Global temperatures were 0.12 degrees Celsius warmer than the previous record. The rapid warming led to heavier rainfall, droughts, and wildfires across different continents. Data from Copernicus Climate Change Service indicated the continuing pace of global warming due to greenhouse gas emissions. The global average temperature over the past twelve months also reached its highest ever recorded, surpassing the Paris Agreement's recommended limit. Climate experts warned of the dangerous pace of global warming and emphasized the urgent need for massive cuts in greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors of society.
