Leo Varadkar is to step down as Ireland’s prime minister and leader of the Fine Gael party in an unexpected decision that government sources said would not trigger an immediate general election. Boeing has warned that it will burn more cash in the first quarter than previously expected as the US planemaker grappled with the fallout from the recent blowout of a door panel in mid-flight from one of its aircraft.
