Forced labor in the private economy generates a staggering $236 billion in illegal profits every year, as revealed by the International Labour Organization. The organization's report, released in Geneva, unveils a significant 37% surge in such illicit gains between 2014 and 2021. The report also identifies Europe and Central Asia as accounting for the largest share of these profits, followed by Asia and the Pacific, and the Americas.
