The inflation rate in Germany slowed for the third consecutive month in March, strengthening the case for a potential interest rate cut by the European Central Bank (ECB) in June. The harmonized Consumer Price Index increased by 2.3% compared to the previous year, a decrease from February's 2.7% and lower than the median estimate of 2.4% in a Bloomberg survey of economists. The decrease in food costs was a primary factor contributing to the decline in the inflation rate.
