The Bank of Ghana has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 29%, in response to modest upside risks to inflation. In January, the central bank had reduced rates by 100 basis points, marking the end of a prolonged policy tightening cycle that started in 2021 and raised the benchmark from 13.5% to a peak of 30%.
