The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for two Russian military officials, accusing them of war crimes committed in Ukraine. The suspects, Mr. Sergei Ivanovich Kobylash and Mr. Viktor Nikolayevich Sokolov, are alleged to have directed attacks at civilian objects and caused excessive harm to civilians between October 2022 and March 2023. The warrants send a clear message that justice and accountability will prevail, despite Russia not recognizing them. The ICC Prosecutor emphasized the importance of upholding international humanitarian law. Russia's war on Ukraine has triggered various measures towards justice and accountability, including war crime trials and investigations by the ICC.
