Vocal Bitcoin maximalist Max Keiser has voiced his support for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the ongoing legal battle against Coinbase and various altcoins. Keiser asserts that, in line with the SEC's position, all cryptocurrencies apart from Bitcoin are considered unregistered securities, including XRP and Ethereum. The court recently ruled against Coinbase's attempt to dismiss the SEC lawsuit, although it excluded the Coinbase Wallet from the case. The SEC accuses Coinbase of facilitating the trade of unregistered securities. Keiser's stance aligns with the belief held by Bitcoin maximalists, including Samson Mow, that Ethereum is a heavily centralized crypto and should be classified as a security. The SEC's case against Ripple and XRP, ongoing since December 2020, also factors into the discussion, with the regulator seeking substantial compensation. Keiser's vocal advocacy underscores the escalating legal and regulatory scrutiny facing the cryptocurrency industry.
