Old Mutual Ltd. reported a remarkable 35% surge in profit last year, propelled by exceptional growth in new business at Africa's biggest insurer. The profit jumped to 7.07 billion rand, reflecting a substantial increase from the previous year. The company's return on net asset value also saw an impressive rise to 11.1% from 9.4%. Additionally, new business experienced a significant surge of 37%, while gross written premiums climbed 14%. This positive outlook reflects the insurer's strong performance and reinforces its position as a leader in the African market.
