OpenAI has filed trademark applications for 'digital voice assistants' and a 'voice engine', hinting at potential new products. This move follows Sam Altman's comments about forthcoming releases before the launch of GPT-5. While the trademarks may not materialize, OpenAI is expected to unveil a superior ChatGPT model in the near future. In an interview, Altman teased several upcoming releases, suggesting competition for the likes of Siri and Alexa. The company currently lacks a digital voice assistant, but its API includes speech-to-text conversion and a speech recognition model. Additionally, OpenAI has applied for trademarks for future models, including GPT-6 and GPT-7. These trademarks cover a range of innovative features, but their approval is pending. OpenAI's previous attempt to trademark 'GPT' was rejected, and its 'voice engineer' application is under review. The company has not yet commented on these filings.
