Qualcomm Launches New Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 Chipset

Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, a chipset positioned just below its flagship offering, aiming to bring high-end features to more affordable phones. The new chipset features a GPU similar to the standard 8 Gen 3 with some variations in performance and frequency. Additionally, it supports on-device generative AI models and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for photorealistic game experiences. Despite not offering all the AI capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it supports multimodal generative AI, virtual assistants, and image expansion. The 8S Gen 3 is part of Qualcomm's efforts to cater to different segments of the market, with several smartphone manufacturers already lined up to utilize the platform in their upcoming devices.
