Telecel Group has made significant acquisitions in West Africa, purchasing two units from MTN Group Ltd. The Chief Executive Officer Moh Damush confirmed the acquisition of MTN's debt and equity in Guinea-Bissau and Guinea-Conakry. However, the specific transaction value has not been disclosed. This move follows Telecel's previous acquisition of Vodafone Group Plc's operations in Ghana. The Africa-focused telecommunications company is strategically scaling its operations and assets ahead of an initial public offering within three years, demonstrating its focus on expansion and market positioning.
