⚠️ Heads up: this article is from our "experimental era" — a beautiful mess of enthusiasm ✨, caffeine ☕, and user-submitted chaos 🤹. We kept it because it’s part of our journey 🛤️ (and hey, everyone has awkward teenage years 😅).

When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, founders of Thoras.AI, Nilo Rahamani and Jennifer Rahamani, were forced to flee with their parents before eventually immigrating to the U.S. and becoming engineers. Recognizing a problem in how engineers sourced Kubernetes workloads, the Rahmani sisters launched Thoras.AI to address this issue. The company has announced a $1.5 million investment for its cloud native solutions, which autonomously monitor and scale applications alongside cloud-based services. Thoras.AI's focus on forecasting demand and notifying engineers of performance issues demonstrates its pursuit of a proactive approach. The company ensures security and privacy by directly connecting to the company's development environment with no APIs involved. Thoras.AI currently uses task-based machine learning, prioritizing traditional AI to forecast consumption, with plans to incorporate large language models (LLMs) in the future. The founders' journey from Afghanistan to starting their own business illustrates their drive and determination. The pre-seed investment was co-led by Storytime Capital and Focal VC, with several other investors participating.
