Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is advocating for the removal of barriers to building more housing in the country. He is urging provinces to freeze municipal development charges and permit up to four units on each lot. Trudeau has proposed C$5 billion in new infrastructure funding for provinces, contingent on their commitment to certain reforms by Jan. 1, 2025, to facilitate increased housing supply.
