The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has announced a commitment of hundreds of millions of pounds towards Britain’s nuclear deterrent and energy infrastructure, emphasizing it as a critical national endeavour to protect the country. The government plans to invest £353 million in apprenticeships and skills in the defense and civil nuclear sector by 2030, with an additional £200 million earmarked for regenerating the Barrow-in-Furness area, where the UK’s nuclear submarine program is based.
