The United States is in talks with Turkey to escalate the procurement of explosives, including trinitrotoluene (TNT) and nitroguanidine, for the production of NATO-standard 155mm caliber ammunition. This move is essential to meet the urgent demand for ammunition in Ukraine. If successful, the boost in supplies could potentially triple the production of artillery shells. Turkey is poised to become the primary supplier of these artillery shells to the US, strengthening their position in the global military market. These discussions come as allies race to provide much-needed ammunition to Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.
